Shipping Policy

SHIPMENTS

All prices are FOB Lynchburg, VA unless otherwise stated.

Shipping methods and routes of shipments are at Direct Doors and Hardware, Inc.’s discretion.

If Buyer arranges delivery of an order, the Buyer is responsible for all freight claims with the carrier they selected.

Shipping charges are estimates only. Buyer agrees to pay any additional shipping costs related to fuel surcharges and special jobsite conditions such as: limited access, delivery appointment, lift gate, waiting time, redelivery, address correction, etc.

PACKAGING

Unless otherwise stated on the face of the estimate, all packaging will be in accordance with Direct Doors and Hardware, Inc.’s standard practices for domestic shipments.

DELIVERIES

Deliveries shall be subject to, and contingent upon, strikes, labor difficulties, civil unrest, war, fire, delay or defaults of common carriers, or any other delays beyond Direct Doors and Hardware, Inc.’s reasonable control, and Direct Doors and Hardware, Inc. shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising therefrom.

Direct Doors and Hardware, Inc. shall have the additional right, in the event of the happening of any of the above contingencies, at its option, to cancel this contract or any part thereof, without any resulting liability.

Upon delivery, it is the responsibility of the Receiver to verify condition of the product. Any damage to packaging and/or product must be noted at the time of delivery on the BOL. Take pictures and notify Direct Doors and Hardware, Inc. immediately. Failure to do so will result in the denial of any freight claims. The Buyer will be responsible for the replacement cost of damaged/shorted items as well as freight to reship materials. Any delivery not in dispute shall be paid for regardless of other controversies relating to other delivered or undelivered merchandise.

Any shortage or damage from small parcel delivery (UPS Ground, Fedex Ground, USPS) must be reported within 24 hours of delivery. Failure to note damage or shortage within this time frame will result in denial of a claim and the Buyer will be responsible for material replacement costs and any related shipping charges.
